## Corrections and citations

The most valuable message this desk receives is a correction. A figure quoted loosely, a study characterised too generously, a trial that has posted new results, a regulatory status that has moved — each of those makes the record more accurate, and each is read and checked against its source before anything changes.

The easiest corrections to act on name three things: the page, the exact passage, and the supporting reference. Suggestions of a study that belongs on the [references page](/references) are equally welcome, particularly a controlled human trial of any of these three compounds, since the shortage of those is the recurring theme of the whole site.

## What the desk cannot answer

Two categories of message will get an honest refusal rather than a helpful-sounding reply.

The first is anything about obtaining material: where to get a compound, how to judge a preparation, which testing arrangement to trust. This desk has no view on any of it, because the published literature has no view on any of it, and a confident answer would be invented.

The second is anything personal and clinical: whether a compound suits a particular person, what amount would be appropriate, or how something might interact with a prescribed medicine. Those are questions for a clinician with access to a medical history, and no reading desk can stand in for one.
